Welcome

The Raymond Lab studies the chemistry, physics and ecology of inland waters and near coastal waterways.

Current work includes understanding the spatial distribution of inland waters, the exchange of greenhouse gasses between water and the atmosphere, the controls on the transport of terrestrial elements and pollutants to waterways, and how elements and pollutants are transformed during transport.  His work entails making measurements of elements, organic geochemistry, spatial analysis, isotopes, hydrology, modeling and probe technology in order to understand how inland water operates.

Pete is also currently the editor and chief of Global Biogeochemical Cycles, president of the Branford Land Trust, and director of the Yale Analytical and Stable Isotope Center.
